Default DVD+RW appears as DVD+R, cannot delete/rewrtie

I'm new to the forum and this is the first one I have joined. Am fairly good with computers but don't know everything and need help with a problem. When i insert a +rw dvd it comes up as a once writable in power2go software, can be written to but not erased. Comes up as CD in windows folder and when attempting to write says "windows does not support this CD-R format_please try another disc". When attempting to delete comes up as "Files on this CD are read-only. You can stil write files to this writable CD, which will replace files already on the disc."

What kind of Optical drive do you have? Perhaps it's not a DVD-RW drive or if it is, perhaps it's malfunctioning.
Don't take life too seriously -- no one gets out alive. Plus, who wants to arrive to the hereafter in pristine condition wearing a suit and tie?
I want to slide in sideways, worn out, used up, hair a mess, clothes tattered, & screaming, "Whooo! What a ride!"
