I just bought a new laptop (hp) with windows 8.1 on it. Since I'm an XP user I am pretty much lost trying to get around and find anything with it.
I've been around computers for several years, still don't know alot about them, but I do know after a while they tend to go brain dead and I've always had to get every on the hd blowed away and reload everything.
In the past I've used Accronis which is a drive cloning, drive imagineing program which works great but won't work on 8.1.
What I want to do is get all my programs loaded in this new pc and then make an image on an external drive/cd/ flash drive etc so at some later date when needed, I can reload the image back on the pc and it will be good as the day I made the image.
Is it possable? I've done a search here but don't come up with much 8.1 information since it so new.
To answer this, do you need any other info about the pc?
My old accronis image program needs the pc to boot from the cd if if there is a cd in the drive.
Any ideas?
