Doing an Online Directory

For the place I work at, I am going to do an updated directory and move from paper ones to a password protected one online.
My question is: Is there a way to do this using a Google product (like Google Contacts) and having the person's current picture, address and phone number and yet have it password protected for the members only?
Or is there another way to do this better?

You could do that via ether google spreadsheet or google contact.
Problem is that all the employees that want to access it needs a google account or share the same one.
Don't know any other solutions. Some of the other members might know a good one.
