deleting a partition blocked by windows

have JUST reinstalled win7 ultimate 64.
i also deleted the windows.old folder to make more space.
i also have a partition for VISTA from like a year ago and want to get rid of it once and for all except that windows won't let me.
the partition with VISTA is C: partition while my current win7 partition is J:.

upon boot, i do get the choice of either win7 or VISTA.
note: the partitions are NOT on the same HDD as i have 6 HDD's.

read on the forums that i should not use partition magic in win7 or is that just BS?

how can i finally rid myself of this VISTA partition?

just tried PARAGON PARTITION MANAGER 9.0 PRO and it was a no go. i think it is due to it being a C: partition.
i tried to change letter but no go.
although i did manage to mark the c: partition as NON ACTIVE so i can't boot back into my PC, awesome
i have a laptop at least


sooooooooo, now i need either a recovery USB (have NO cd drive) or a bootable win7 USB.
any ideas?

i have win7 currently on a USB but when i try and use it i'm getting the error "no bootable partition in table" on my PC even though the USB has a BOOT directory, a BOOT file and a...

AUTORUN.inf, that has this in the file...

can i change the autorun file so the USB is recognized?
yes, the BIOS is set to boot from USB as first device.

I would have used GParted. It is an awesome Linux Utility that will allow you to delete and create partitions very easily without any hassle.

anyone know how i can make a bootable USB that has win7 on it?
i don't own a CD drive.
