When using my mum's laptop I've noticed that the Data (D: ) only has 708MB remaining of 75GB, and was wondering if that was a problem. Will this have an effect on the overall performance? There is still 16GB left on the (C: ) partition so could some of that be swapped over?

Lack of free space on C: would affect performance more than free space on D:, so I wouldn't recommend moving data from D: to C:.

The laptop either needs to be cleaned up, or a bigger hard drive installed. Of course, since it's not your PC, you better let her decide what to do. :)

C: is the main drive used by windows, virtual RAM and the system cache is stored there, so having less space on the :D Partition shouldnt really affect it. But as its the same hard drive, it may slow down reading times.
