I suggest that an update to Windows BC may be in order to solve this problem. It seems like your machine may be on its last legs

It's not on it's last legs. (look in sig for specs) and i just did a fresh install of XP so it's all up to date.

if u have windows xp professional it should be in the start list when u hit it because mine i can just hit the control panel right from the start page
