Default codec help

I just went to install
Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2009-09-09.exe

And a window cam up that says MP4 is in your system rtay and is know to couse proplems can we disable it.

I did not have any MP4 in my system try so I clicked NO

And I ok this ios for playing diferant file type it is a CODEC Pak??????????

The CODEC pack I just got is called

Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2009-09-09.exe

Are these codecs good just for Playing or can I use these in my Encoding as well?

CCCP doesn't come with an encoder. Those are for playback.

Vemode is another good program for video encoding. You can also use VLC and export the video stream as another video type.

If you are doing this for DVDs, you would need to first rip the DVD then you would re-encode it. It's a 2 step process. Handbrake would work after you rip the DVD.
