Default CMD admin issue

I tried running sfc /scannow from the cmd console and it keeps telling me I need admin privileges. I am the admin and sole account on the system.

What gives?

Do you run it CMD as Admin or just launching it normally?

Right click and "Run as Administrator" or create a shortcut for CMD on your desktop and make sure that in the properties of the shortcut that you have "Run as Administrator" checked.
