Default chkdsk help

I have win xp pro and I am on desktop and go to the RUN BOX and type
chkdsk

And it starts checking the system and gets to stage 2 of 3

Now wen it get to stage 3 it starts bringing up a list of things but it goes by fast and then the whole thing goes away.

And I just see desktop???????????????????

I would like it to show me if anything is wrong or if everything is ok????????

Should I type chkdsk C:

Instead of typing the chkdsk command into the Run box, open up a command prompt and type it in there. That way it won't go away when it finishes and you can scroll through the messages.

Thanks for the help.
Wen it it compleate it tells me how many problems it found and to run it again and use the /F switch

I know /R will Fix any problems and if it can recover the Data to good Clusters.

And I right that the /F will just Fix problems but not recover Data
