Challenge anyone? installing xp over vista...

Hi, thank you in advance for any help provided.

My issue is trying to install xp pro over vista on a Compaq Presario A900. When I boot from cd (xp) I get the normal windows setup and right after I press f8 to accept the license agreement it gives a message:

<There is no disk in this drive>

I was previously succesfull in installing xp pro on the new Dell Studio Hybrid by going in the bios and making some changes and it recognized the hd after that, however I can't seem to find a fix for the compaq.

Need to load the SATA controller drivers from a floppy disc.

You could always try using an XP SP3 cd as they are more likely to recognize the SATA controller.

Thanks DJ-CHRIS I will try to load the sata controller, I did use the xp sp3... I will keep you posted.

Hi DJ-CHRIS, sorry for the late reply, I did not get a change to try it out as it was taking to much man hours to install xp... Thanks for your help again.
