Cant install windows xp on windows 7

When you boot into windows 7, does that CD get recognized? Do other CDs work?

My laptop can recognize windows 7 cd and other cd's as well but not XP cd. I have tested that XP cd in other computer and its working.

Hi Ms_isb
your problem have solved by recovery disk.
I don't know how to recover by disk.
could you tell me?
if can step by step

By recovery disk I mean CDs that I made of my windows xp. You can simply put the first cd in your pc/laptop and set the first boot device to cd-rom. It will ask you to either repair, fresh install or quit. Here is a link which can help you.

Just don't press OK when it'll ask for second disk. Remember to backup your personal data!

You probably are installing windows xp while booted on the windows 7. They really do not allow that as you are doing a downgrade in terms of their operating system. I suggest that you boot the xp cd rom. Set it as the device that would be booted first so that you have the option to install the OS fresh. You should by the way format the drive so that you are assured to get a fresh install.
