Default Cannot get to safe mode

I'm using a dell optiplex 745 series using windows xp ...presssing F8 on boot up but cannot get the advanced startup option .any suggestions

Are you pressing BEFORE you see the Windows XP screen?

Just smash F8 from the time you turn the computer on.

Yep, i just spam the F8 key right after you see your computer logo screen.

Set the USB to be one of the boot devices. Not all USB devices are recognized at boot up. If using a USB hub plug your keyboard directly in to a USB port on the back of the computer.

The easiest and sureest way is have one finger on the power button and one finger on the F8 key. As soon as you hit the power button just start pumping away at the F8 key. This will bring up the safe mode option..... if it does not there is a problem with your computer which could lead to more serious problems down the road.

For what are you trying to use Safe Mode and what operating system?
