Booting issues

don't double post use edit

sorry misunderstood
in command prompt typr format A: /s

in XP goto my computer and format A: with the make MS-DOS boot disk option if you get the same error then you've got a dead floppy disk

after you've made your DOS floppy copy the 2 .exe files from your active@ killdisk to your floppy and when it has booted type killdisk and then just do a complete format of the hard disk

Ok, I got a new disk and this time it said :

Starting...

followed by:

The following file is missing or corrupted: COMMAND.COM
Type the name of the Command Interpreter (e.g., C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM)
A>

It just mirrors whatever I type in to the missing file prompt, including the \command.com

ok, you don't seem to be able to get DOS to work ( i dunno why) so try booting your linux disk and doing the partitioning manually

just delete everything with disk druid and then make a swap partition and a linux native partition

Yea I tried that, the only ones I have to work with at the moment are RH 6.2, Mandrake and Fedora Core 2...which should I do?

And if you have aim : serani87

ok, i don't have aim - only got MSN. use mandrake - i can refer to that and when you get to the partitioning bit, delete everything and make your linux partitions
