Blue screen of death won't boot up

hi guys,
i have a compaq presario CQ50
when ever i try to boot up it will get as far as the windows loading bar and will crash with blue screen of death, but it re-boots before i get a chance to read it.
it will then just keep re-booting and getting to the same point in a constant loop

any ideas?

first thing i would do is reinstall the ram sticks

Definitely would reset the RAM sticks to make sure they are secure. If you are still getting the blue screen, would try to reinstall windows. May be having a software issue.
