Hey guys i have a Plextor blu-ray player in my computer and now it wont play blu-ray discs. It came with CyberLink BD Verison 8. Ive uninstalled it and ran ccleaner and then reinstalled it but it still wont play the disc. So i installed the verison 12 free demo and it plays it but have some kind of software bug that made my hard drive peg out!!! Do any of you know do to get this stupid thing to play blu-rays or a better free blu-ray software?

You might check first to see if there is a firmware update for your plextor.

AFAIK, VLC player will play bluray movies. It's a free player and is current on video/audio codecs, so you might give that a try to see if your bluray movies will play. If you still have problems, I'd look into seeing if there is a firmware update at plextor's website.

This link may lead you in the right direction:
VLC Blu-ray plugin - Watch encrypted Blu-rays directly in VLC 2.0+

Read more towards the bottom of that link and it seems to work for people.

Good luck!
