Exclamation Backup Software help

Hey, I need a program for some backup solutions.

My family has a desktop in the house that we all backup our files onto from our laptops and I was hoping there was a program that would automatically backup my files onto this other pc on a timed interval.

Anyone got ideas ?

You have them all networked so you can transfer files between them all? I'm assuming something like Nero's backup utility would do this, if it supports network devices. I've never tried that before, so I'm not sure how to go about that, but it's a great idea. Nero's utility does have an automation feature, as I'm currently reading. I believe you should refer to the networking forum on this site.

If you set up mapped drives on the laptops that point to the desktop PC then you could create batch files containing properly configured xcopy commands to back up the files/folders you specify to these mapped drives. You can make this process automatic by using Scheduler to run the batch file at the intervals of your choice.

That's a very good idea; I didn't think of that.
