Default AVI on stand-alone DVD player ?

Hi folks

I've some files in AVI which I'd like to put onto DVD and play on my DVD player. I've Nero Burning ROM SE and it won't allow me to put the AVI file on a DVD Video.

So basically, how can I put AVI files onto a DVD and then play them? Must I convert them into MPEG or some other format?

Thanks

yip, i have an old home dvd player, it refuses .avi and only takes .mpeg format. there are plenty convertors out there to be googled.
you may have to tinker around with the compression settings a bit to get the mpegs just right for the cd size

good luck
