Default ATA standard???

what is the ATA standard by todays standard and what is the maximum drive size under current ATA standards???

That would be SATA3 or SATA 6gb/s as it is also called by some. (because that's about it's maximum transferred rate)
The highest capacity i have seen on a HDD is 4TB.
