Default Asus Turbo Unlocker

I recently built a PC for gaming and the motherboard I chose had the Turbo Unlocker Option by ASUS. I'm new to PC building but by the research I have been doing it looks like the Turbo Unlocker is similar to overclocking? What are the similarities/differences and does it cause overheating like overclocking can? Just wondering if/when I should use this feature (it does seem to speed things up quite significantly with the little I have done with it).

Default Re: Asus Turbo Unlocker

this technology is kinda weird. i just saw this video:
i can't understand that you can just unlock cores. i guess that it works on some AMD cpu's. dont know. try to reed some of the comments on the video. make no sense to alot of people.
it seems like it is also some kind of auto overclocking. auto overclocking will never be as good and accurate as regular overclocking.
