AVG takes about 1/2 hour, norton takes about 20-25 mins

Yep, I think you're right, my advice, for what it's worth is to go back to AVG, the latest free version, dead easy download, I went to their site via Google.

Mine is now 7.0 from 6.0, it's quite a bit better than 6, I d/loaded it when it first came out, & they offered it, now they're suggesting AVG Professional, but some people say it's not so easy to run, it's really aimed at businesses, & is too OTT for home users.

Thats coz its for businesses not really for home users...
But either way, you would get better protection and comfit ..
