Default for a 64bit

hello masters. ive got a noob question. can a intel core 2 duo handle a win7 64 bit OS?

Check the motherboard specs to see if it's 32 or 64 first. My HP dv6 has a core2duo and it's 32 bit.

my mobo is ASUS P5G41T-MLX3. i think its 64bit ready. what do you think? shall i go for win7 64bit?
