Problem with video calling on webcam

I have a built in webcam on my Sony laptop. It works fine one way but if I attempt a video call with a friend as soon as her webcam loads, mine stops showing. I can see and hear my friend but she can only hear me.

Can you please help as this is very frustrating!!

Need a little bit more information then just it being a Sony laptop. Specs and the program that you are using will be a little more helpful in trying to troubleshoot. Right off the top it sounds like a conflict of maybe connection issue. But unless I get a little more information I am unable to help you.
