Has any one had any experience with Google Talk? Is it a good application or just an attempt to poach some users from Microsoft/MSN, AOL and Skype?

I used to use google talk and I have to say its not that great for 1 reason only....you can ONLY talk to people who have gmail accounts! Unlike MSN, AIM, and Y!M, which allows any type of email or sn. Google talk has some cool features but its really not worth it yet. Until google decides to actually allow other people to sign up besides gmail users it will always be obsolete.

Google Talk is a great idea theoretically, but a little too late now..
See, the fact is most people have and stick to 1-3 messengers.. not so many use Google Talk, so why should I get it. I don't feel the need to talk to myself, so I stick with AIM/MSN/Yahoo.
