I like Google Talk. It's very nicely made. It has a clean and simple design and has the handy built-in VoIP included. The only downside is the lack of options...

I have Google Talk too but so far its not very dominant, i have no one on my contact list and therefore don't use it, hardly any options compared to MSN Messenger, i'm going to stay with that until it become more widespread ...
And yes you still need an invite, i have invites too so you can always ask me for one
