The 6800U will run games such as BF2, CoH, C&C3 with most eye candy turned on (possibly shadows in BF2 needs to be medium) but all in all you'll find it a huge improvement. 2GB of ram is almost a must though.

I'm still running my Ultra and it is coping with no problems at all. It cost me $A1000 (approx. $US865.00) at the time of purchase (when they were released) so you got a good buy.

Yup when I first started looking into my computer I didnt pla on spending as much as I did, but now I have a fairly good computer. And I will probably use it for college in a couple years, I'm a sophmore now.

i can run aa maxed out on an x300 and 512mb of ram...

i get 60fps on my laptop with integrated ati xpress1150, i run everything high except shadows and lighting, and run a res. of 1280x800 and it runs great, when i go outside it goes down to 20fps though...

yeah, so you can use those settings but can't play with them...
