Default Windows Error Message

well one of my family members has asked me a favor which is to fix there laptop without reformating it but im finding this one hard due to not having thr boot disks to take it back to a earler date and it does not go off the harddrive like other packard bells i have fix in the past


the error message that comes up is


UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

then a load of crap which some of you may know

and Technical information

**STOP:0x000000ED (0x82385030. 0xc0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

this error will come up when i try safe mode or last config that last worked
If any one has any information that could fix it then i would be very thank for full the information

P.S

i would of posted where this should be posted but people mainly read this part of the forum

if the above fails ... remove the drive hook it in as a slave to another computer .. remove the data the person wants back .. format .. replace dirve .. install windows .. copy back old data
