Microsoft reveals Windows 7 due in 2010...

Windows Vista replacement to stick with 32-bit

Official details of the next version of Windows reveal the codename Windows 7, a 2010 release date and the news that Windows will continue to come in both 32- and 64bit editions.

Oh man I can see they are really trying to get the names just right.

First it was Longhorn, now it is Windows 7. We went from something out of WoW to something Bill Gates thought up of in the shower. Windows 7?!!?

Well, I would have thought they would have gone to 64-bit by than. As 32 can only support 3.25gbs of ram. Currently 2GBs is average for vista, 4 or more will be for 7, so 64-bit is almost required. I'm glad my vista is 64-bit.

I think I'll skip Vista then... Only got another 3 years to wait for the new version, and XP is fine.

my uncle knows a friend who works for microsoft and gets the employee discount so im going to get vista ultimate 64-bit for 35$ and dual boot here pretty soon.

XP = NT5(.1)
Vista = NT6
Windows 7 = NT7

yay, another operating system from microsoft! Looks like I'll stick with my vista for another 3 years, and then thats out the window.
