Default What's the proper way to write email to someone...

...who you don't know the name of. A formal email.

Yeah. Remember that e-mail is considered informal though, if you want to send something important it would be best to send it through snail-mail. Anyway, something like this:

Do people really write emails like that? Looks rather odd I think

Ha, snail mail is a real word:

Anyway, sometimes people write it like that. Technically though if you really want something to be formal then you're supposed to send a hard copy. I had to write an e-mail like that the other day to apologize for something because I didn't have the guy's address.
