Default What would be your next upgrade?

I've been out of computers for about five years, but plan to get back into it next year.

As a guide I'd like to know which direction I should go towards.

The first direction would be to the hardware section.

LOL, funny but true. Just go post asking for help for a new build. Post your budget and you'll get the best computer that amount of money will buy.

Except that you don't know beforehand which one would be suitable (and Consumer Reports only goes so far).

Based on what I've heard, SSD and Windows 7 would be excellent choices.

I'm waiting for AMDs new 8 core bulldozer chips to roll out, then I'm seriously going to think about building a new system. Unlike a lot of people, I can actually find a use for as many cores as you throw at me...
