What sound systems do you guys reccomend

screw the center speaker and if you really want to cut down on the amount of speakers just use 1 rear speaker, make sure to combine the Right and Left outputs on the rear so you get all the audio still.

Well yeah... Right now I have a surround receiver and 5 speakers, 1 sub. MY ROOM IS FILLED WITH SPEAKERS! Basically, I want to get a smaller setup. I like having the receiver because I can use the radio. I like the logitech X230, it would fit perfectly on my desk but can I still run FM from a boombox into the speakers? Because basically that's the only reason I have the receiver. For radio and computer sound.

These are awesome

I would reccomend these for a 2.1

But if you arent that much of an audiophile (but it sounds like you are) these following would be perfectly fine..

2.1 is my personal fav for computer speakers - this is the best you will find for under 100

and 2.0

Yeah If I had 4000 bucks I would get the bose home theater system. But I don't. Seriously, the bose system is the best in the world. Go to a bose store and watch the presentation. You watch a movie using the sound system. Theres 2 giant speakers and a center speaker. Sounds reallllly good. But then at the end, you see that the big speakers are fake and all the sound is coming out of those 5 little satelite speakers. Definitely worth eh... well most of the money.

And yeah I do care alot about my sound, my sister always comes in my room like yo you got surround lol because she has like 2 of those desktop computer speakers and when you blast them they crackle and smoke out.

Actually I hear audiophiles hate Bose systems. Personally I think they are way overpriced for technology they have been using for a long time.

Seriously you have to hear it to beleive it. Considering the size of the speakers it is the best setup out there I can think of.

The best 2.1 system I've heard about is the Altec Lansing MX5021 THX 2.1 Speaker System.

The sound is supposedly the most realistic of any 2.1 system at that price, with seperate mid ranges/tweeters and sub.

If I didn't want a 5.1 system, I would have got them.
The Altec Lansing 5.1's though are no where near as good, and neither are the ones above this, with the thin panels.

Yeah sofar I think that Altec, JBL, Bose and Logi are the best. I'll probably go to CC and try some out.
