ahah you should see it in toca race driver 3

if you go from 5-1 too fast then the gear box automatically dies

I would hate to see the inside of a transmission when that happens.

I heard about this guy who was racing his Acura RSX who accidentally down shifted at redline. They hooked it up to a computer and the RPM's measured 13K+. Needless to say, every single valve was bent.

Has anyone accidentally down-shifted instead of up? It's not a very pleasant experience. I went back down to first instead of going up to third once. I almost smacked my head on the steering wheel.

I've never done it, but came close to it. I was like "wait a minute..." and didn't let the clutch out and put it in the right gear lol.

I love down shifting though, since it puts you more into the powerband and listening to the open throttle.

I haven't driven a stick shift in a few years. I used to go out and drive it with my dad all the time. Now he just has a Jeep. =/
