ok uphill skiing would suck.
i have seen the clip on bindings
they DID suck because they froze over
i had switch step ins and worked wonderfully
and new clip on bindings are out thats dont freeze over, and the snows dosent pack inside the bidning slip thing part...

Hmm ... only ever been to the snow once ... not much now around here in Australia, i usually go ice skating at my local ice rink, Macquarie Ice Rink every Wednesday for those who live around there
