Haha, a lot of those game engines have really good physics too. Especially PhysX and Havok along with Source.

Quake games use their own engines. So the don't license the SDK from a certain company like Havok or Ageia, instead, they just make their own and implement it.

Yes but they let it out to other games such as soldier of fortune etc that run the quake engine

I don't really like the EA Battlefield engine - in BF2 you can see the scenery actually bends like it's flexible in some places! You can see the textures physically moving on a rockface etc.
