-PhysX
-Jupiter EX (F.E.A.R.'s game engine)
-DOOM Engine
-Source Engine

I like the new graphics engine used in AOE III. What did they use anyways?

They did use Havok physics, but idk what else... I did like the F.E.A.R. engine but their soft shadowing looked really crappy, and booged down the game.

Oh...oops! Haha...

Just for those who don't know anything about game engines, the RenderWare Engine is used it the Grand Theft Auto series, X-Ray Engine is used in the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl game, Lithtech's Jupiter EX is used in F.E.A.R. and the rest is pretty self-explanatory

OFFSET ENGINE

ok, now that i feel better,
  • Ageia PhysX are great, 30000 object as opossed to 100 i think or even less!
  • The Havok engine is amazing as well
  • Far Cry's if just :'( i am going to cry...
  • The Unreal engine is a thing of beuty, i see it and i just :"( i cant help but 3j4cul4t3...
  • Doom engine; My good, it was god, but i stunk on anything BUT Nvidia, also the character models stunk, only the textures were amazing.
  • Ea's engine nothign really great about it...
  • Source is just amazing... Great lighting, shading and texture mapping
  • Reanderware; i hate to break it to you guys but the graphics were not that good, but it was better(much) then the other ones)
  • X-Rays; well... graphics not to bad, falls under the same problems as the doom engine

Here are some you left out!
Note: Should have voted for the F.E.A.R. Engine too!

Yes, I noticed that. Goodness.

Yeah, EA's game engine sucks, but I just wanted a variety that's all.

I like Source the best, especially with the addition of HDR.
