Default What was this game?

Ok, I really need help finding the name of this one old PlayStation 1 game I used to love.

All I remember is that it was a side scrolling platformer/ adventure and the objective had something to do with collecting these little curly-q things.

I kept thinking that this game was a part of the Oddworld series, and when I played these again, it was nothing like it.

I remember one of the cutscenes from this game: the main character bites into a potato or something like that and he develops a painful rash on his face. The cutscene was also in claymation style graphics.

Any ideas?

I wish I could help, but I doubt putting curly-q things into Google will come up with many relevant results...

Maybe this'll help? I'm not sure how complete it is:
