We are SCREWED!

No, not necessarily a conspiracy. I'm just thinking it seems like a good cover story for a test that will be visible by the entire world. Can you imagine the uproar from countries like China, Korea or Russia if we came right out and said that we were testing a new global satellite defense weapon?

*says with massive lisp*Like shootin a massive laser from out satellites! Like a giant beam of soda! :D

Ok science lesson. If we find water in large amounts we can:
Through electrolysis separate the hydrogen and oxygen. The main ingredients for
wait for it

ROCKET FUEL!
The oxygen combine with some other minor gases would also be use for a breathable atmosphere in the lunar base and the EVA suites. And guess what else? When it comes time to liquefy the gases the compressor station would be built in the shadow of a mountain or on the dark side of the surface. Why you say? Because the night side or a sustained shadow will drop to -200 degrees or lower. Gee wouldn't that make it so simple to liquefy a gas if it's colder than crap to start with? Are you getting where this is going?
Ok let's assume not.
Who's our closest neighbor that has a "relatively" friendly environment?
MARS
What does it take to get there?
ROCKET FUEL
What's it made out of?
HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN

So let's summarize what we have learned.

I like the nuclear warhead test idea better.

If they are doing the manned mission to mars they had better build another gas station on mars or else they are screwed and it will just be a death mission.
