We are either talking about malware/viruses. Bitching about Windows 10. Or all kinds of stuff in the social lounge.
We're in a rut.

There are other aspects of computers that would be interesting to talk about. I'm a hardware guy so when they get the internet fixed here maybe I could do some threads about hardware. I know software also but my core interest is hardware.

I'm designing some add on boards for my computer that will allow the mother board to monitor and control the fan speeds but lets the fans draw power directly from the PSU. It's not rocket science. I have to make sure if a fan stalls or outright fails the computer will pick up on it and alert me or shut down. I have all this crap laying around for my models I can't fly because of the heat. Might as well put it to some use.

You that are taking laptops apart might want to take pics and show us what you're doing. Now granted it takes longer to do what you're doing, but it's more fun, to me anyway, to take the world along for the ride. I shoot hundreds of pictures just to get those that you see in posts here and my hobby forum. I took 500 just to get those couple of dozen you see in the F550 thread.
I know others may not want to or have time to, let alone own a camera. But modern cell phones and tablet have advanced so much that the built in camera is rivaling my DSLR.

WE, being just a figure of speech, are in a rut. I really don't have a problem doing what I do. But it sure would be nice if others would do it too.

I'll play. :D

This is when I built my i5 system back in 2012-2013. I bought my parts on the monthly basis while I was using my budget i3 system I've built in 2012.

The case is the Xigmatek Gigas cube. I got it when it was over 50% off at Newegg. The case and the Gigabyte motherboard were the first monthly buy.

I'll watch and learn. Looks like a interesting thread to me. Wish I was smart enough to play. I'm not into hardware, but I like to read about it!!
Gary!!

The rail is back in and now for my Seagate Constellation 1TB hard drive. It's a server drive.
