Sounds like the 16:9 flag is not set in the file header.

The first is a camcorder forum that does reviews. The next one is Panasonic USA and the last is Panasonic global. If you look at the high end of thier consumer cameras you'll find most of them use SDHC chips and not tape.

while i agree that alot of the newer pro cameras use SDHC or other flash storage possibilities, minidv is the most cost efficient as it is very expensive to keep buying 16gb chips for your high bit rate pro HD camera (yea i wish i had one...)

I just love my dvx100b and tapes are actually pretty convenient. (look it up)
