why do delivery drivers take it upon themselves to leave stuff by the door or in other unsecured places at all?
I know that pretty much all delivery companies in britain have at least semi local depots, so if you're not in when they try to deliver they'll leave a delivery card saying tried to deliver and the package is returned to the depot, with instructions to wait 24 hours and then come and collect it yourself or call to re-arrange delivery.
there is simply no reason to leave a package unattended in a driveway or by a door, it is just the driver being too lazy to take the package back and put in the collections room when the public go to pick up undelivered packages.
