Default Upgrading laptop vid card thread

Any one remember the kid wanting to upgrade his 950 Intel graphics chip in his laptop? I may have stumbled on a working answer for him but can't locate the thread.

My friend also wants to upgrade. He bought a brand new core 2 duo laptop with 2 gigs of ram, vista home premium, and no good video card.

I think they're supposed to be making external videocard slots for notebook computers, granted, it would cost a pretty penny since it would be relatively new technology.
I'm convinced that isn't what Setishock is referring to though.

lol mines a toshiba aswell. it would be useful to know if it can be upgraded, especially since my laptop can support 4gb ram so if i had 4gb and a decent graphics card my laptop would be a lot better
