So more info out now...
70% of cars with the problem were not recalled...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...022204887.html

Oh, and now they are discovering it wasn't the physical peddle, it's in the electronic system, meaning all the shims they put in don't actually do anything, and the cars will probably need to be recalled AGAIN.

But SIU discovered that, "A flaw in the design of Toyota's electronic acceleration system prevents the car's onboard computer from detecting and stopping certain short circuits that can trigger sudden speed surges"

so....

""If there was this kind of fault, it will never set an error code," said Gilbert. As a result, he said, there will be "no fingerprints, no trail" when Toyota engineers inspect a car after an accident or incident of sudden acceleration."

Nice... this is def getting VERY bad.

I didn't mean to hyperlink Toyota and Sudden Acceleration, I just copied and pasted, but they link to other articles, so I will just leave them in I guess.

Toyota had that problem caused by one of their sub-contractors. They take the blame and will fix it. If I had one, I'd just go to the dealership and have it fixed. Doesn't cost a thing.

I had my father's Olds had the throttle stuck. Nobody's perfect. They're reliable cars. I had 2 of them and both still runs well, even though they're not that young.
