Default Too many sections?

Semi sparked off by the comments about reorganising the forums into having more sections - I don't want to start that debate again here, but if anyone wants a ridiculous example of something with a lot of sections / subsections...

I'll let the link do the talking!

I agree 200 odd sections is probably pushing it.

We don't need more sections here, it's just fine how it is.

That's a lot of sections on that CNC forum, though it looks like they use 'em all.

I don't think that is the least bit ridiculous. I'm willing to bet that 95% of the people on that forum are engineers. If you've ever met an engineer you would be able to tell they would run a forum like that.

However for the average joe that is overkill.

There are quite a few posts on that CNC forum.

I agree though, engineers can't think simple.

RCforums is an example of a forum with many sections, but well organized. I think to reduce it's number of sections would be detrimental. Some forums are better off with more sections, some with less.
