I'm not surprised. With how much violence is on TV, it's only a matter of time until kids start thinking its OK to do things like this. But of course, I am mostly refering to kids who have bad parents.

Yes now a days parents dont even care. kids watch porn, rated R movies, and are aloud to do whatever they want. No lie I say 50% of my school will pass high school. about 20% will go to college, and only like 10% will be successful when they grow up. Also about 50% of the kids in my school either get lower then D average, take drugs, take alcohol, smoke, have been arrested, stolen, or have gotten a write up. Our country is not looking good if every school or the majority of them are like mine, and i live in Galloway. This is weak compared to other towns. This girl came to my school from Blackwood New jersey because she was on a hit list and scheduled to be shot the next day. Even worse is we cant use our restroom because people vandalized it. There is one that is constantly monitored. Our cafeteria is about to go to assigned seats for every period of lunch. Wow, this country it heading in the right direction.

Sorry to break it to you, but most high school kids drink...and steal...
Lol and getting written up? Now that is hardcore.

Haha. If you think about it, Mario would be considered violent. Jumping on turtles and kicking them is pretty violent behavior

But seriously, I watched R-rated movies when I was like 9 years old. My parents did limit the types of R-rated movies that I could watch and they made sure that I understood that real violence is never good.

Basically what I meant to say is that many parents don't supervise or talk to their kids about violence in movies, TV, or videogames. They let their kids play violent games all day every day and don't instill in them that violence is wrong and that these games and shows are not real life but fake. If parents don't do this then their kids begin to think that maybe this is what real life is like(outside of their comfy home and school) and that it is OK to do the things they see in violent movies or games.

I played games like Quake, Quake II, Monster bash, Doom, Doom II, and of coarse that evil mario series, yarhg!

I watched R rated movies all the time. I used to listen to some crappy rap bands like ICP, which are as bad as they come.

My parents never stopped me from watching anything, playing anything, or listening to anything (Granted I never let them knew some of things I listened to or watched..)

I found my own sense of what was right and wrong. Even at the age of 8 I could tell that what happened in video games and movies were not to be repeated in the real world.

But I know what your saying, some kids just let that stuff warp their minds... and some bad things can happen.

I was reading it on AOL news, and they are trying to make excuses for the kids saying that they may have felt this was some kind of cartoon. When i was that age, I knew the difference between reality and a cartoon. Not to mention, this was premeditated considering they had planned roles. This would have to involve some thinking. anyone who makes such excuses for these kids deserves a slap in the face for stupidity. Hello! Attempted murder!

These kids need to face some consequences. Eight years is the starting age for juvy, and these kids should spend some time there for attempted murder. They should also participate in scared straight programs. If they are plotting horrible schemes this young, it is scary to think of what they'll do in adulthood. Personally, i don't care about the age of these kids. They were smart enough to plan and try to carry out such a thing, they need punnishment. They do not deserve any sympathy in the LEAST bit.

If they were my kids, I'd beat them senseless to the point of not being able to sit for a week. Kids need more old fashion punnishments. They are like animals now. they get away with too much and think they can rule everyone.

They can't be too mentally challenged if they could enginue something with such complexity. Excuses! Excuses! Excuses!
