Default Thinking about starting a new anime website

When a lot of folks get asked about anime they say it's naked women in compromising positions. Some of it is but that's not really the main stream of the genre.
I refer to to movies and televison series like Ghost in the Shell. There are others of the same genre that are fantasic and merit a look. So in light of that fact that I'd like to crank up a state of the art website to let artists and fans come together. I have visited other fans and "offical" sites but activty is not where it should be. I think I can do better.
So my questions to you CF's are these>

Are you in to anime like Ghost in the Shell?
Do you think a new website would fly?

I've never seen Ghost in the Shell, but anime is good. I'd visit the site if you got one going.

I am personally not into anime. And don't ask me how I know this, but 'anime-porn' is actually referred to as hentai and not as anime.

I hate to be pessimistic but I do not think the site would fly. How would you target your audience? I believe CF is so successful because of it's name. I was looking for computer forums, so I typed into my browser computerforums.com, computerforums.net, and computerforums.org. And thats how I found this site.

Unless you have a great domain name like that, or some ad revenue, I don't see how you could successfully reach your demographic. Not only this but I think your site would need to be more then just a forum to attract members and create a good community.

Perhaps having features like a scrapbook where members can put up a couple files and others can critique them, or something to offer your users while the site is in its early days.

There are only 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who can read binary, and those who can't.

Got your attention though. You're right but the terms get blurred as you see.
Ghost started out as a manga comic book in Japan then made the jump to anime as it's commonly refer to. You and I know the correct terms but many don't. It's one of the goals of the site to help clear this misnomer up.
My intention is to use the latest version of VB when it goes gold. It has some features that will fill the bill as in user groups and the user pictures.
Thanks for your comments.
