Greetings CF.

No, this does not indicate the permanent return from my series of sporadic hiatuses. At least I can't guarantee you that.

I come here today to discuss a topic I've been researching for the past couple of months - something that's held my interested and proves to be both frightening and hopeful at the same time. It is Technologic Singularity.

Basically, a theory of Ray Kurzweil. Here's more info if you're unfamiliar:
The Singularity Is Near - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Also a good documentary:
YouTube - ‪Transcendent Man Film Trailer‬‏

So discuss away. I look forward to hearing your views on what seems an inevitable technological achievement.

Ha! No offense, I find this to be a joke. Machines will never be able to improvise. Nothing will ever be planned to 100% execution accuracy. Machines won't be able to handle a situation which requires improvisation and when that comes they'll just spontaneously explode due to infinite loops. Technology will be bottlenecked at the atomic level anyway.
