AT&T just removed my data plan... WTF?

call 611 (att) from your cell phone. explain to the rep that you had the unlimited data plan before. tell them that you were upgrading your phone at the att store and say that the guy messed. if they give you a hard to just yell and say "why would i pay for the mistakes that you made" if they say no, ask to speak to a manager or supervisor. the manager will not have time to bs around with so you he will just add it on. Make sure to emphasize that the att store fucked up when upgrading one of your other phones. I did this recently and it worked.
