He just built a custom PC, Intel P4 3.0GHz, 512MB RAM, onboard graphics until he can buy a new video card. Anyways, when he tries to run WoW he gets this message -

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:00632915

The instruction at "0x00632915" referenced memory at "0x00000054".
The memory could not be "read".

My only thought was that he needs a video card. But i thought i'd ask you guys. Also in Control Panel > System it only registers as 400 and some MB of RAM. Is this because he's running the onboard graphics? Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Yes the onboard video card uses some of the system memory. The problem could be with the memory, I'd run a memtest.

Ok i'll tell him to do that tomorrow, the lazy fool went to bed at 11:00 tonight lol.
