8GB, the 16GB is about $50 more.

eeew, that is awfully small, and it doesn't have an expansion slot either.

This is a disturbing trend. Damn you, apple.

Yeah, but I don't really have that much music. When I do listen to music, I usually make a playlist of the top 2 songs (IMO) of each artist. This only take about a GB or 2. Also, I usually listen to and artist or 2 for about 1 month constantly, then listen to something else. So space isn't really that important. I just got used to an 8GB, which is why I want an 8GB or higher MP3 player.

The P3 with the firmware update seems to run smoother. So the P3 is winning again.

I see... Do you care about movies and such though?

I had an 8GB iPod touch, and I was able to get 2 movies on it before it was completely full. Now, I just cut the resolution down and I can get more, but it looks bad.

I got my PSP to play movies. I will probably just put a couple of MVs and trailers on the player.

oooh, get a cowon D2. There is a port of rockbox to it, so you can play such amazing games as DOOM on your MP3 player.

And it's cheap, expandable, and has good sound quality.

Get one of these, install rockbox, and epicness will ensue.

* Apple: iPod 1g through 5.5g, iPod Mini and iPod Nano 1g
* Archos: Jukebox 5000, 6000, Studio, Recorder, FM Recorder, Recorder V2 and Ondio
* Cowon: iAudio X5, X5V, X5L, M5, M5L, M3 and M3L
* iriver: iHP100 series, H100 series, H300 series and H10 series
* Olympus: M:Robe 100
* SanDisk: Sansa c200 series (not v2), e200 series (all models), and Fuze v1 (not v2)
* Toshiba: Gigabeat X and F series

Rockbox runs on these players, but is incomplete, less usable or has problems that limit it to advanced users:

* Apple: iPod Nano 2g
* Cowon: D2
* Olympus: M:Robe 500
* Packard Bell: Vibe 500
* Samsung: YH-820, YH-920 and YH-925
* SanDisk: Sansa Clip (all versions)
* Toshiba: Gigabeat S

I am interested in the sansa clip port. I can get one for $20, and it has pretty good audio quality.

What's good about rockbox compared to the MP3s I am looking at?
I was on Wikipedia, and I didn't seem to find anything that interests me except the gaming. However, I already have a DS and PSP, which both can run homebrew and stuff. Also, the P3 (and S9 I think), both supports flash, so I can play some flash games.

Well, you install it to dualboot with the regular firmware, and it has some pretty awesome applications. For something like the D2, the extra applications are really the main benefit.

and it is really customizable, but that is not a big deal to most people.

So I have some idiot telling me to put a sock and dielectric grease in my computer, passing this 'idea' off as a new cpu cooling product for beta testing, and I have his MSN address.

What should I do here?

Happy Birthday, Teny!

On another note, some basic hardware came in. CD drive and card reader for the media build and a Saitek Cyborg for me.
