Ah, i remember back in the day using street slang..

green backs = dollars

crib = house

squares = cigarettes

Yep, there is so many slang words for the English vocab. :cool:

:eek:

Woo hold your horses... (huh?)

I know "what's up" and it's variants "sup" and "wussup"! (West Coast?)

I know dollars can be called bucks or green as well.

Also some funny expressions like "kick the bucket", "bite the dust", "kick back", "beat about the bush" and some others!

Never been to the States before, nor any other native English speaking country. My sources are the media!

Note: media is plural :rolleyes:

Slang usually sounds dumb.
In danish we also have some weird slangs.

  • Jeg slÃ¥r pÃ¥ trÃ¥den senere (i'll hit the line later) meaning i'll call later
  • hjernhæst (iron horse) meaning bicycle
  • havelÃ¥ge (garden door) can also mean bicycle
  • mal ikke fanden pÃ¥ vægen (don't paint the devil on the wall) meaning don't assume the worst
  • Rævelort (fox sh*t) meaning cigar
  • Den store frugtplukker (the big frugt picker) meaning storm or powerful wind
  • sømpose (nail bag) meaning wallet
  • tarm turist (intestinal turist) Homosexual
