Update: As promised, here are some after photos of the areas I treated with oxalic acid. There's a lot of pitting from the rust, but it looks so much better. Unfortunately I didn't take any before photos, but it looked pretty bad.

...continued

Still waiting on new tires and I'm going to repaint the rear rack and rustproof the chrome, but it's done other than that. Rides pretty well too. I may put a 3 speed hub on it at some point.

EDIT: Found some before photos of the pedal cranks that i took to get advice on how to remove them. Guess I'll post those here. They were actually among the least rusty parts on the bike.

Eh, definitely not mint. There's a lot of pitting and flaws where the rust ate all the way through the chrome. The spots don't show up well on camera (except on the front hub and the wheel nuts), but they are clearly visible on the bike. It's still a huge improvement over how it looked before, and I'm more than happy with the results.

would this ram

Buy the Kingston Blu HS 4GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory Module at TigerDirect.ca

be compatible with

this mobo?

Buy the ASUS M4A88T-M Motherboard at TigerDirect.ca

The reason I ask is because the ram is 1333MHz and the mobo only claims to support
1066MHz DDR3

Will it just throttle back the ram to 1066mhz or will it be incompatible?

from ASUS website:

Quote:
4 x DIMM, Max. 16GB, DDR3 1866(O.C.)/1333/1066 Hz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
source

In cases where the board truly doesn't support the speed the memory is rated for, it'll generally just run it at the max speed supported by the board.
